We Become What We Think About

If you take a look at the most successful people in our society, they all have one thing in common: They all knew where they wanted to go.

I’m currently listening to “Lead the Field” by Earl Nightingale – a powerful audio collection where Nightingale spells out the differences between those who achieve what they desire and the rest of the world. In the track I just listened to, entitled “A Worthy Destination,” it was made clear as day that successful people have GOALS which drive them. From the moment that they wake up, to the moment that they are about to rest their head onto their pillow, their GOALS are the underlying motive behind EVERYTHING that they do.

Every waking moment we should think to ourselves: “Is what I’m doing right now getting me to where I want to go?” Napoleon Hill said it best when he said, “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” What are YOU focused on? What do YOU want? Where you are today isn’t a result of the economy, fate, or outside circumstances. We are where we are in life because of our own decisions. This can be either a cold slap in the face, or it can be the most empowering words you have read today… It all depends on how you choose to look at it.

The fact that each one of us have been blessed by God with talents, the human brain, free will, and another breath of life says that each one of us can get whatever we want. Whatever we focus on, whatever we think about, we become.

Lead the Field

I highly recommend “Lead the Field” by Earl Nightingale. Just the first three tracks of the twelve total have been worth the purchase price! I’m looking forward to tracking my life’s progress as I focus on the goals I’m striving to attain.

“You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. That is something you have charge of.” – Jim Rohn

Daily I’m hearing people complain about the economy, the President, their boss, and other circumstances that are out of their control. In this quote, Jim Rohn reminds us that WE must take charge for where we are in life.

Frankly, if you hate where you are in life – DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

God gave us a brain and free will to use at its fullest capacity. If we’re not doing what we’re capable of, shame on us. Make it a goal this week to speak less and do more.
